My name is Leigh Simpson. I wish to contribute
to the welfare of our wildlife, which includes feral and farm animals.
If you are actively working to help these animals in San Mateo County, and need additional assistance, then I might be a resource
for you, both in labor and materials.
I was drawn
to voluntary work by the words of JFK when he said: "...ask not what your country can
do for you, ask what you can do for your country...!"
At 16 years old I became a volunteer Red Cross driver.
After graduating
from college, I was drafted into the U.S. Army. Two years later, while in graduate school, I tutored Vietnamese in English.
After graduate school, I became a United States Peace Corps Volunteer
(1975-1979).
As an electrical contractor, I have wired four houses
in East Palo Alto for Habitat for Humanity.
In the summer of 2009, I completed a video documentary for Rebuilding Together Peninsula.
CuriOdyssey at Coyote Point is a great place to volunteer because their
entire staff is incredibly dedicated to educating children, and protecting our wildlife.
In 2018, I plan to increase my volunteer service hours.
I am actively
involved in helping our animals, but as an individual I can only make a limited impact, so if you or your organization needs
my help, I shall do my best for you.
If you think that I might
be able to facilitate any of your projects, please call or email me. I have many construction related skills.
