In college, I was the apartment manager of a sixteen unit building. I did basic repairs and painting. After graduating, I was . . .
Drafted into the United States Army, and trained in cryptography.
When my two year military obligation was completed, I entered Graduate School. During this time I worked at the Elmwood Correctional Facility (Santa Clara County Jail) in charge of the hobby shop and sports programs.
I joined the United States Peace Corps after Graduate School. I became impressed by the ingenuity of local builders. This would lead me into the construction industry.
Upon my return to the United States, after a brief sojourn into the world of art, I decided to become an Electrical Contractor.
First, I worked for a General Contractor as a laborer/carpenter doing kitchen and bathroom remodels.
In addition, I learned roofing and dry rot repair.
Later, I was employed by an Electrical Contractor. We did both residential and commercial work.
I completed the College of San Mateo's Building Inspection Technology Program in 1986, and subsequently taught the National Electrical Code at the ABC Trade School and at the College of San Mateo.
From 2016 to March 2020, I presented electrical code problems to the City Building Inspectors of Calbig at their monthly meetings. Covid-19 changed the format of these meeting.
I opened Bay Area Electric in 1988.
